Dr R Narasimhan

Dr R Narasimhan, founding chairman of Respiratory Research Foundation of India, has nearly 30 years of experience in respiratory medicine and is deeply committed to providing his patients with individualized attention and quality medical care.

He received medical degree from S.V. Medical College in Tirupati and later went on to successfully complete MD Chest from the same college. Over the course of last 30 years, Dr R Narasimhan has practiced respiratory medicine at various leading hospitals and has emerged as one the prominent respiratory doctors. He is currently working as senior respiratory physician at Apollo hospitals, Chennai. He has conducted valuable research on respiratory medicine and authored publications and presented his research on numerous occasions at various national and international conferences. He has also been is actively involved in academics through his role as professor and HOD at various prestigious medical institutions.

• Worked in Railway Hospitals, Perambur in 1980 for one year.

• Worked in TB Research Centre as Senior Research Officer.

• Worked in Sri Ramachandra Medical College as Incharge of Respiratory Medicine.

• Joined Apollo Hospitals, Chennai in the year 1992 as Consultant and now Academic Coordinator, Department of Respiratory Medicine.

Organizing Capabilities

• Organized Indian Bronchology conference in 1995 in Chennai.

• Organized Secretary for the ACCP South India Chest Meet 2003 in Chennai.

• Organized Secretary for the forth coming Indian Bronchology Conference to be held in Chennai in Jan 2006.

• Organized many medical camps to create awareness on respiratory illness through Respiratory Research Foundation and Rotary clubs.

Achievements

• Got the Best Teacher Award from API Chennai Chapter.

• Got the Vocational Excellence Award from the Rotary club of Madras North West for the highest number of diagnostic bronchoscopies in south India. Has so far done more than 10000 diagnostic bronchoscopies, the highest in south India.

• Has been a distinction holder all through the educational career.

• Has won 49 out of the 50 Gold medals that his college offered.

• Is a faculty for many national and international conferences.
